Our Story, Crafted the 1845 Way
At 1845 Barndominiums, we believe a home should feel personal—rooted in craftsmanship, shaped by your lifestyle, and built to last for generations. Our team walks with you every step of the way, making the process feel clear, collaborative, and completely centered around your vision.
Our story began in Hallsville, Texas in 1997, originally as MBM Metal, focusing on commercial and residential construction.
In 2020, owner Cody Holloway carried forward that legacy of craftsmanship and reintroduced the company as 1845 Barndominiums—shifting our focus toward the work we’re most passionate about: creating custom barndominiums that truly feel like home.
While MBM Metal continues to serve the commercial side, 1845 Barndominiums has expanded into new regions across North Carolina, allowing us to bring our builds to more families than ever. Today, we proudly construct barndominiums throughout these areas and ship our custom kits nationwide—helping people all over the country bring their dream homes to life.

How We bring your barndo to life
At 1845 Barndominiums, we’ve built our process around clarity, craftsmanship, and genuine care. From the first conversation to move-in day, we guide you through every step with a focus on quality, communication, and a home that truly reflects your lifestyle.
The first step is to determine the budget for your new barndominium. This would be a good time to talk to your bank about pre-approval for a construction loan.
Find your land and then finalize a floor plan. If you are struggling to find a plan that you like, we can help! We have architects here at 1845 Barndominiums to help you with your design. your design options are almost unlimited with us!
Set up a meeting with our sales team. This meeting will help us give you a detailed quote for your build. We will discuss the design, location, and finish outs for your dream home.
Draw up preliminary plans. This is an exciting step.. Your dream home is now starting to come together. These drawings will have you ready to secure financing with the bank as well as finalize any changes that need to be made.
Once we have made any final adjustments to your plans, we are now ready to sign your contract and start the construction of your dream Barndo
